Our Geo for Good Summit is an annual conference geared toward nonprofits, scientists, government agencies and other change-makers who want to leverage mapping tools and technology for positive impact in the world. The Summit is an opportunity to hear the latest updates about our mapping technologies and learn how others in the community are using these technologies for impact.

Similar to last year's event, this year’s Geo for Good Summit will be a virtual conference. We want to ensure the health and safety of our participants around the world, and we hope to see you in-person in 2022.

Interested candidates must apply to attend the virtual summit.

The Geo for Good Summit is intended for nonprofits, governmental agencies, scientists and other change-makers who want to leverage mapping tools and technology for positive impact in the world.

Eligibility

  • Applicants from nonprofit organizations, researchers, community organizations, and governmental and intergovernmental agencies will be prioritized. Companies are also welcome to apply for the Summit, with an emphasis on company applicants with demonstrated project work in areas such as sustainability, deforestation reduction, sustainable supply chain, and climate change.

  • Applicants who work in the following focus areas will be prioritized: agriculture, air quality, climate change, crisis response, clean energy, health, land rights, nature & biodiversity, pollution prevention, water and diversity, equity & inclusion.

  • No previous technical experience is required, however the Summit is tailored to technologists, GIS specialists, remote sensing specialists and others who are or plan to be working hands-on with Google Earth, Earth Engine and other Geo tools.

  • There is no limit to the number of people per organization who can attend, however we do require that each individual completes an application form. You can not register on behalf of a group of people.

How to Apply

  • The application period will open in July.

  • Applicants must clearly demonstrate how their work leads to positive social and/or environmental impact. We will not be able to consider applicants that do not give detailed answers to open-ended questions or can not provide supporting evidence of their projects and work (links to webpages, papers, news articles, etc.).
